My Famous Person of the Middle Ages

Objective: To learn about the lives and historical contributions of a historical figure from the Renaissance.

Day 1

Using the Internet choose a famous historical figure from the Renaissance ( a google search will be required to find the information)

Once you have chosen someone you are interested in, let me know your choice by posting in the comments.

Day 2- Gathering Information

You will need to gather up facts about the life of your historical figure (i.e. birth, birthplace, a few details about their childhood) etc.

You will also need to gather facts about their achievments. For example if your figure was an inventor, what inventions did he/she come up with? Why were these inventions important? If this person was a poet what did they write? These are some of the facts that you will gather.

Also gather any pictures you may wish to use in your report.

You can gather your research a number of different ways by using graphic organizers.

Day 3-5

Writing the rough draft. Write down your information into three paragraphs. Use Word to start your work. This report in its final form will be about half to a full page typed and double spaced.

Day 6- Publish your work to your blog. Your job is to convince the people in your class that your person really is "famous".

10 marks for the research notes
15 marks for the rough draft
20 marks for the final copy
15 marks for using technology (blogging and responding to students work)

total 60 marks
